Program Description
The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program at Conestoga College is designed for individuals with exceptionalities or significant learning challenges. This two-year program provides:
- A modified college experience with support from Learning Strategists.
- Core courses covering human relations, job skills, life skills, computer skills, and health and wellness.
- Additional courses from diploma programs in areas such as Community Services, Business, Media and Design, and Health Sciences. These courses are modified to meet the unique needs and interests of CICE students.
Students benefit from tailored programming that enhances both academic and vocational skills while fostering independence and career readiness.
Admission Requirements
To qualify for the CICE program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC), or equivalent; or be 19 years of age or older.
- Demonstrate academic needs requiring curriculum modifications to succeed.
- Exhibit a level of independence that does not require constant supervision or support.
- Be able to manage transportation to the college and any field placements or off-campus activities.
- Participate in an interview to assess program suitability, personal goals, and areas of interest.
