Program Description
The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program at Confederation College is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges. This program provides personalized learning tailored to studentsβ academic needs with both classroom and field placement support.
Program Highlights:
- Core Courses: Focus on skills for life and work, computer skills, writing for success, and personal & professional growth.
- Supervised Field Placements: Gain hands-on work experience to build rΓ©sumΓ©s and showcase talents to employers.
- Individualized Support: Includes both in-class and out-of-class assistance.
Upon successful completion of coursework and field placements, graduates earn an Ontario College Certificate in CICE.
Admission Requirements
- Age:
- Must be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
- Educational Background:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC).
- Academic Needs:
- Demonstrated academic needs requiring program modification for success.
- Documentation:
- Provide the most current formal academic assessment.
- Interview Process:
- Attend an information session or contact the Program Coordinator.
- Participate in a pre-interview for the CICE Program.
- Transportation:
- Students must provide their own transportation to and from the college and field placement locations.
