Program Description
The CICE Program at Fleming College provides a supportive educational environment for individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges.
Program Highlights:
- Core Courses: Includes human relations and communications, job and life skills, computer skills, and health and wellness.
- Work Placements: Offers hands-on experience to enhance skills such as time management, self-confidence, independence, and employability.
- Individualized Support: Students receive assistance from dedicated Learning Facilitators to meet their academic needs.
Graduates earn an Ontario College Certificate upon successful completion of coursework and field placements.
Admission Requirements
- Education Background:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC), or equivalent.
- Alternatively, students must be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
- Academic Needs:
- Demonstrated need for curriculum modifications to succeed.
- Independence:
- Must have a level of independence that does not require constant supervision.
- Technology Access:
- Access to a computer, internet, webcam, and microphone is required.
- Transportation:
- Ability to arrange transportation to and from the college and field placements.
- Interview Process:
- Participation in an interview to assess program suitability, interests, and goals.
