Program Description

The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program at Mohawk College is a fully integrated, two-year certificate program designed for individuals with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and other related challenges.

This program offers:

  • A person-centered, inclusive learning environment with individualized support.
  • Opportunities to enhance academic, social, and work skills.
  • Leadership and self-advocacy skill development.
  • Participation in integrated courses across various program areas alongside core and academic experience courses.

Graduates of this program receive an Ontario College Certificate, equipped with skills for improved independence and career readiness.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for the CICE program, applicants must:

  • Be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
  • Hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Certificate (OSSC).
  • Provide proof of disability and the need for modified curriculum (e.g., ODSP assessment, psycho-educational assessment, or doctor’s note with an IEP).
  • Demonstrate the ability to attend college independently.
  • Participate in an intake interview process to assess program suitability.
