Program Description
The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program at Sault College is tailored for adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges. This program provides students with an opportunity to:
- Pursue an individualized program of study, selecting courses from Sault Collegeβs program offerings.
- Develop academic, vocational, and social skills in a supportive environment.
- Engage in field placements to gain hands-on, practical experience.
Graduates of the CICE program are equipped to work with employment support specialists to find meaningful careers. Upon successful completion of all coursework and placement requirements, students earn an Ontario College Certificate in CICE.
Admission Requirements
To qualify for admission to the CICE program, applicants must:
- Hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), Certificate of Education, Achievement or Accomplishment, or qualify as a mature student.
- Have academic needs requiring curriculum modifications to succeed.
- Demonstrate a level of independence that does not require constant supervision.
- Be able to arrange their own transportation to the college and field placement locations.
- Meet the programβs specific admission criteria, which will be provided after application submission.
