Program Description

The CICE Program at St. Clair College is tailored for individuals with developmental disabilities or significant learning challenges, offering an inclusive college experience and a pathway to skill development and employment readiness.

Program Highlights:

  • Core Curriculum: Includes courses in communications, job and life skills, and human relations.
  • Work Placements: Hands-on experience to develop and enhance vocational skills while engaging with the community.
  • Learning Support: Dedicated Learning Facilitators provide in-class and out-of-class assistance to ensure student success.

Graduates earn an Ontario College Certificate upon successful completion of coursework and field placements.

Admission Requirements

  1. Education Background:
    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC).
    • Alternatively, students must be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
  2. Academic Needs:
    • Must have academic needs requiring curriculum modification for success.
  3. Independence:
    • Sufficient independence to avoid requiring constant supervision.
  4. Transportation:
    • Ability to arrange transportation to and from the college and field placement locations.
  5. Interview Process:
    • Participation in an interview to assess suitability for the program.
