Program Description
The CICE Program at St. Clair College is tailored for individuals with developmental disabilities or significant learning challenges, offering an inclusive college experience and a pathway to skill development and employment readiness.
Program Highlights:
- Core Curriculum: Includes courses in communications, job and life skills, and human relations.
- Work Placements: Hands-on experience to develop and enhance vocational skills while engaging with the community.
- Learning Support: Dedicated Learning Facilitators provide in-class and out-of-class assistance to ensure student success.
Graduates earn an Ontario College Certificate upon successful completion of coursework and field placements.
Admission Requirements
- Education Background:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC).
- Alternatively, students must be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
- Academic Needs:
- Must have academic needs requiring curriculum modification for success.
- Independence:
- Sufficient independence to avoid requiring constant supervision.
- Transportation:
- Ability to arrange transportation to and from the college and field placement locations.
- Interview Process:
- Participation in an interview to assess suitability for the program.
