Program Description

The Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program at St. Lawrence College is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or other significant learning challenges.

This program provides:

  • A personalized program of study with courses selected from various St. Lawrence College program offerings.
  • Academic supports such as curriculum modification, note-taking, tutoring, and other services as needed.
  • Opportunities to develop academic and vocational skills in a supportive community college environment.

Upon successful completion of all coursework and field placements, graduates will earn an Ontario College Certificate in CICE, ready to pursue meaningful employment or further education opportunities.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 19 years or older on the first day of classes.
  • Hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Certificate (OSSC).
  • Demonstrate academic needs requiring curriculum modification for success.
  • Exhibit a level of independence that does not require constant supervision.
  • Be willing to participate fully in the program.
  • Be able to provide their own transportation to and from the college and field placement locations.
